Can you believe it's already September? What happened to this year? While most of us are still struggling through some very sunny days, the weather here has really changed. The nights are getting longer again and the temperatures have dropped insanely! Let's face it, girls, summer is about to end so the big question is… How to create that perfect bohemian autumn look?
5 easy tips to get your outfit ready for autumn
1) Oversized shawl
Especially for those in-between days, an oversized shawl is just the best. I'm not a big fan of “normal” coats, so a throw on like this beauty is just magic. Just wear it over your favorite blouse or with a maxi dress and stay nice and warm. This shawl was made for me by a friend, but you can find them in almost every fabric and style now this autumn. Go big!

2) Go crochet
If you are really going for that 70's look you need to have some crochet ( more on the blog) in your closet! Whether it's a coat or a top, crochet is the way to go. Luckily more and more brands have now taken up some crochet pieces in their collection. This beauty is from LoveForever, but you can also find several brands on Etsy. Carol Bohemian Style (from Spain) is also one of my favorite places to shop for crochet.
3) Find yourself a vintage afghan coat
If you like to have that real bohemian autumn look simply find yourself a vintage afghan coat. Through the years I've found many in second-hand shops and I never pass by without having a quick look to see if I can find myself a “new” one. If you don't have any vintage shops close to you simply look on Etsy or try Asos Marketplace. If you rather have a new one I also spotted a very cute one on Tree of Life. The one I'm wearing in the picture is second-hand but not really super old. It's faux everything, but it fits me like a glove. Somehow I never seem to mind when it gets colder with this coat.
4) Flare jeans are a must
Away with those skinny jeans that make you unable to breathe! Say hello to the flare jeans preferably high-waisted too! They make your legs look like a thousand miles long! And who doesn't want that! This autumn you see these jeans in almost every autumn collection so simply look at FreePeople, Asos, or your local jeans store. Try to find a really deep blue color for this season.

5) Statement bag
What would the perfect autumn look be without a statement bag? With the colder days coming look for bags in a deep brown, cognac color and it needs to be big! A warm deep orange one is also perfect. Life is too short to be boring right? I found this bag on Etsy, but you can also find some beautiful styles on Jodilee Designs (AUS) and FreePeople (US).
Remember that going vintage is always a good idea! I found some of my best items second hand! Dressing like everybody else is just boring so don't be afraid to stand out! Happy Autumn!
Stay healthy, stay warm,
